Get started with AndroMouse and solve common issues.

Getting Started

1

Download the Android App

Get AndroMouse from the Google Play Store. The free version includes all basic features. Upgrade to Pro for advanced features like Live Screen Preview.

View Download Options
2

Download the Server

Download and install the AndroMouse Server on your computer. The server is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Download Server
3

Connect to the Same Network

Make sure both your phone and computer are connected to the same WiFi network. AndroMouse uses your local network for communication.

4

Start Controlling

Open the AndroMouse app on your phone and tap on your computer in the device list. You're now ready to control your computer!

Windows Setup

Windows SmartScreen Warning

When you first run the AndroMouse Server, Windows may show a SmartScreen warning saying "Windows protected your PC". This is normal for new applications.

How to proceed:

  1. Click "More info" on the warning dialog
  2. Click "Run anyway" to start the server

This warning appears because the app is new and hasn't been downloaded by many users yet. AndroMouse is safe and does not contain any malware.

Windows Firewall

Windows Firewall may ask for permission when the server starts. Make sure to allow access on private networks so your phone can connect.

macOS Setup

"App can't be opened" Warning

macOS may show a warning that AndroMouse "can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer" or "Apple cannot check it for malicious software".

How to proceed:

  1. Open System Preferences (or System Settings on newer macOS)
  2. Go to Security & PrivacyGeneral
  3. You'll see a message about AndroMouse being blocked
  4. Click "Open Anyway"
  5. Confirm by clicking "Open" in the popup

Alternatively, you can right-click (Control+click) the app and select "Open" from the menu, then click "Open" in the dialog.

Accessibility Permissions

For mouse and keyboard control to work, you need to grant Accessibility permissions:

  1. Open System PreferencesSecurity & Privacy
  2. Go to the Privacy tab
  3. Select Accessibility from the left sidebar
  4. Click the lock icon and enter your password
  5. Check the box next to AndroMouse Server

Linux Setup

Running the AppImage

After downloading the AppImage, you need to make it executable:

chmod +x AndroMouse-Server.AppImage

Then run it:

./AndroMouse-Server.AppImage

Firewall Configuration

If you have a firewall enabled (like UFW), you may need to allow the AndroMouse port:

sudo ufw allow 2345

Connection Issues

Computer Not Detected Automatically

If your phone doesn't automatically detect your computer, try these steps:

  1. Check WiFi: Ensure both devices are on the same WiFi network
  2. Restart the server: Close and reopen the AndroMouse Server on your computer
  3. Check firewall: Make sure your firewall allows AndroMouse connections
  4. Restart WiFi: Toggle WiFi off and on on your phone
  5. Use manual connection: Enter the IP address manually (see below)

Guest Network / Network Isolation

Some routers have "AP Isolation" or "Client Isolation" enabled, especially on guest networks. This prevents devices on the same network from communicating with each other.

Solution: Connect both devices to your main WiFi network, not a guest network. If the issue persists, check your router settings for AP/Client isolation.

Manual Connection

Finding Your Computer's IP Address

The AndroMouse Server displays your computer's IP address in its window. Look for something like:

Server running at 192.168.1.100

If you need to find it manually:

Windows:

  1. Open Command Prompt
  2. Type ipconfig and press Enter
  3. Look for "IPv4 Address" under your WiFi adapter

macOS:

  1. Open System Preferences → Network
  2. Select your WiFi connection
  3. Your IP address is shown on the right

Linux:

ip addr show | grep "inet "

Connecting Manually in the App

  1. Open the AndroMouse app on your phone
  2. Tap the "Enter IP Manually" button
  3. Enter the IP address shown in the server window (e.g., 192.168.1.100)
  4. Tap "Connect"

Make sure to enter only the IP address, without "http://" or any port number.
